Bad body odour is due to the growing of bacteria in sweat that is produced by our body through various activities that we perform. By sweating, we cool down the temperature of our body. Sweat by itself does not have any smell. It generally smells bad when the bacteria grow on the sweat after reaching the surface of the skin. Mostly the bad odour comes from the sweat of armpit and groin called the apocrine sweat. The bad smell from the feet is the eccrine sweat. Hygiene, skin and genetic problems are different kinds of problems, associated with bad body odour. Obesity, bad eating habits, use of tight fitting clothes is some of the other factors causing bad body odour.
It really affects an individual’s mixing up with people. They tend to avoid social gatherings if they become aware of their bad body odour. Combat bad body odour with some quick practices
- Take regular bath with antibacterial soap. After the bath add a teaspoonful of honey in the water for the final rinse. This keeps the body odour in check.
- Wash the areas of armpit, genital and feet regularly.
- Keep the areas dry after the wash.
- Usage of boiled mint leaves in the water for final washing is helpful.
- Change your clothing frequently and use well ventilated shoes.
- Eating well balanced diet and drinking plenty of water is essential.
- Last but not the least is the use of anti-perspirants and deodorants to smell nice and fresh to go out and socialize.
