Olympic Games have faced spoiled event to a large extent in 1976 due to drug intake allegations. The concerns were aroused greatly in South Africa against Newzealand after a rugby match. Those Olympic games were boycotted by 26 African countries in all.

Since then steroids are illegal to sell and purchase in various countries. Only 50 countries have legalized steroids related matters. Another steroid often used by athletes in the beginning is Deca Durabolin, a brand name of a chemical compound nandrolone. It is a long-acting drug available in the form of injection. It persists in the blood even after two weeks of a single dose. It is not suitable for athletes, as its traces remain in the blood for a year or longer. So it is not a likely option for athletes.
