Another case of bird flu infection has come forth during this month, as a 2 year old girl tested positive for the infection in northern China.

Health Ministry spokesperson at Hunan province told that the girl got illness on Jan. 7 and her grandparents took her to a hospital in Shanxi province.

Different tests confirm that she was infected with the bird flu virus known as H5N1. The Health Ministry didn’t tell how she got infected with the disease.

“She is in dangerous condition and Shanxi province health department is doing its best to save her.”

Other relatives and those who had close contact with the girl are under medical observation, but yet no one has been found as the victim of the disease.

This new case has emerged at a time which is quite worrisome for health authorities, asbird-flu1.gif millions of people are on the move between different rural hometowns and cities for Chinese New Year which will begin from Jan.26.

China is known as one of the biggest poultry raisers in the world is quite serious about wiping out the disease sparing no effort to fight the disease.

Chinese health officials have shown concern that the virus can mutate into a new form which can easily spread among the people.

The recent WHO tally shows that more than 248 people have died of bird flu since 2003 worldwide. In China 21 bird flu related deaths have been reported.
