Medical concerns aroused after the mysterious death of Jett Travolta, son of famous movie stars John Travolta and Kelly Preston. The 16 year old had a mysterious life as he was suffering from a disease, rarely found, called ‘Kawasaki syndrome’, which can lead to seizures and heart ailments.
The cause of the death been reported a seizure that occurs due to the said syndrome, as was seen on the death certificate and reported by an undertaker in Bahamas. The mentioned cause aroused many doubts and medical concerns.
The Associated Press was told by medical specialists on Tuesday that the Kawasaki Syndrome was sadly misunderstood, and that cannot be the cause of Jett’s death. An attorney associated with Travoltas told that the boy had a track record of various seizures, which refers to the bad health conditions. Kawasaki can cause inflammation and can damage heart and adjoining arteries up to the level of bursting.
It has also been speculated that Jett was an autism patient too, which causes seizures. The condition of repeated seizures is called ‘epilepsy’. Epilepsy can cause unconsciousness and death, by and large. Dr. Bruce Cohen, a staff neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic said “Sudden death in epilepsy is not an unheard-of phenomenon,”
In epilepsy, sudden death can occur without any signs of seizure. This epilepsy named as ‘sudep’ kills more than 1000 epileptics each year.
