Erysipelas – Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Erysipelas is a Skin infection caused by Bacteria.  It can extend to the Cutaneous Lymphatics. It was first discovered in middle Ages, it was known as St. Anthony’s fire, named after an Egyptian healer, he was famous for treating different infections.

Erysipelas was first occurred on face and it was caused by Streptococcus Pyogenes. Now, this infection is mostly found on Legs and Arms. A Streptococcus is also identified as the Etiologic Agents.

It is highly discomforting Skin condition which should be treated in time. It involves the Lymphatic system in it. In pre-antibiotic time, it was a very severe disease mostly found in infants.

Trend of Using Contraception among Teenagers

A National Survey has found that more teenaged males use Condoms when they have Sex for 1st time and females are switching Contraceptive patches and Emergency Contraception.

Since 2002, there is an increase of 9% in males who use condoms for first time having sex. There was an increase of 6% points in males, who use Condom making love with their partners using a Hormonal Method of Birth control.

Teenage girls show a little change in the use of their Contraceptive measures. 2% used Hormonal method of birth control and other use Birth Control Pills in year 2002.

Other methods of Contraception may include Contraceptive Patches, Injectable Devices and Emergency Contraceptives.

A decrease is seen in the trend of Sexual action among young people so; the rate of Teen birth is decreased.

Overuse of Antibiotics Can Be Bad for Good Bacteria of Body

Some researchers believe that Antibiotics can affect the good Bacteria of body and it can lead to Obesity, Cancer and Asthma. They not only affect the Bacteria and sometimes wipe them out totally.

Good Bacteria in body helps in many ways like making Vitamins and enhancing the immunity system.

Martin Blaser, MD, who heads the department of Medicine at New York University, says that pregnant women and babies should be more careful about these antibiotics because it can harm them on a large extent as they are developing good Bacteria in their Gut.
