Mexico City Puts Cops on Strict Diet Plan

The problem of being over weighed has been associated many times with the government officials especially the cops and the Mexican authorities have sorted out a very good solution for this problem.

strict-diet-planThe Mexican authorities have brought a new eating plan for the cops according to which their daily food menu will be offering 4000 to 2500 calories.

The Mexican city is one of the most populous cities in the world that requires a police force of 70,000 officers and according to some estimates three quarters of whom are overweight. The task for monitoring the food menu has been given to Dr. Alfredo Peniche, who heads the police department’s medical program and now he will monitor the number of calories these cops are taking in their daily routine.

Sleeping Problems May Be Caused By Brain Injuries

A recent study has been carried out on the impacts of brain injuries on the sleeping behaviors of humans and it has been find out that brain injury can disturb the production of the hormone melatonin that is potentially leading to the sleeping problems.

sleeping-problemsAn earlier study was carried on the same issue and its author Shantha Rajaratnam of Monash University in Victoria, Australia while discussing about that study said that “We’ve known that people often have problems with sleep after a brain injury, but we haven’t known much about the exact causes of these problems”.

In the new study that was published in the May 25 issue of Neurology, the researchers analyzed 23 people who have suffered severe traumatic brain injuries and also 23 normal people of the same age. All of these people were monitored for 2 nights in the sleep laboratory and after that it was found out that levels of melatonin were higher in the normal people at the evening and that shows the signs of thinking about sleeping.

The Type 2 Diabetes Is Linked To High Risks of Many Cancers

The diabetes is one of those diseases which always welcome some other dangerous health problems like kidney problems, blood pressure and others, recently a new drawback of Type 2 diabetes have been found.

The study was led by German Cancer Research center in Heidelberg and the findings have been published online in the 17 May issue of the Oncologist.
